The Power of the Cross

I love Easter. I love the music most of all. It brings me back to the cross as the central focus of my life. I would have no hope without Jesus. My life would have no meaning without Him. I found this video on another blog that I follow and wanted to share it with you. May your Easter be truly blessed as you spend time in the presence of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!

What a marvelous time!

I'm winding down my time in California. It's been exhausting at times but very fun! I've been taken to San Diego Wild Animal Park, Laguna Beach, Hearst Castle, Morro Bay, Disneyland, out to breakfast, lunch and dinner, shopping for used books, and pampered every where I've been. I have wonderful friends and supporters! Here are some photos of a few of them. (I'll leave off their names for privacy.) I'll have more photos in my online album soon.

California's version of the Tour de France

This post will be more interesting for those of you who like cycling. My husband liked cycling so my interest is because of him. Also, my good friends in Carlsbad are still very much into cycling, so I watched the first two days while I was with them last week. I will be in 4-5 cities on the tour, but not at the right time. I missed the stage in Clovis and will be in Paso Robles, Santa Clarita and Pasadena after the fact. By the time I get back to the Escondido area, the race will be over. I guess I should have planned my trip a little better. Although considering that my purpose for this trip is not to watch cycling, I guess I can be forgiven.

My first In-N-Out...

Yesterday I had my first In-N-Out burger -- on this visit to California, at least. I've had friends in Colorado ask me what the big deal is about an In-N-Out burger. I'm not sure I can answer that question. I think perhaps you would have had to have lived in California and grew up eating In-N-Out to understand. Maybe it's just because we can't get them in Colorado, but they sure taste good.

Back in my "State of Origin"

For those of you who may not know, I was born and raised in Southern California. When I was 41 years old, my husband and I and our two children moved to Denver and Colorado is now "home" but I have a lot of family and friends that still live in California. So I'm back to visit many of them.

During the next, almost, six weeks I will be traveling from San Diego north to Fresno and back to the San Gabriel Valley before I return to the San Diego area and then back to Denver. I'm excited to reconnect with folks and share about the changes that are ahead for me in Spain.

I will try to post from time-to-time and maybe even show you some photos of the places and people I will be visiting.

Here's my first photo. My friend and I were running errands one day in their "vintage" VW bug. I think this car was made the year I graduated from high school. Wow! Do I feel old.
