My first In-N-Out...

Yesterday I had my first In-N-Out burger -- on this visit to California, at least. I've had friends in Colorado ask me what the big deal is about an In-N-Out burger. I'm not sure I can answer that question. I think perhaps you would have had to have lived in California and grew up eating In-N-Out to understand. Maybe it's just because we can't get them in Colorado, but they sure taste good.

Back in my "State of Origin"

For those of you who may not know, I was born and raised in Southern California. When I was 41 years old, my husband and I and our two children moved to Denver and Colorado is now "home" but I have a lot of family and friends that still live in California. So I'm back to visit many of them.

During the next, almost, six weeks I will be traveling from San Diego north to Fresno and back to the San Gabriel Valley before I return to the San Diego area and then back to Denver. I'm excited to reconnect with folks and share about the changes that are ahead for me in Spain.

I will try to post from time-to-time and maybe even show you some photos of the places and people I will be visiting.

Here's my first photo. My friend and I were running errands one day in their "vintage" VW bug. I think this car was made the year I graduated from high school. Wow! Do I feel old.

Why I Love Living in Colorado

This was taken from the back porch this morning. Yesterday we woke up to snow falling and today sunshine! What a beautiful place to live.

Welcome Home

I came across this video today in a blog I follow. I decided to share it with you. If you're like me, you'll need a Kleenex.

Christmas Memories

We had a good time with family in Montana Christmas week. We had a White Christmas and enjoyed watching some very large flakes float to the ground. I guess the sky isn't the only thing that's big in Montana.

Here are a few of my favorite photos from that week -

Snuggling with Grandma.

Getting tickled by big sister.

Singing for the Christmas Eve Service at church.

Kite-boarding? (Snowboarding with a kite)

Helping Grandma make the topping for the apple pie.

City cousin and country cousin?

My sister-in-law's front yard - pretty impressive, huh?

I took a ton more photos, but you'll have to go to my online photo album to see the rest. New Years Day has come and gone. I enjoyed watching the Rose Parade and was very happy that USC beat Penn St. in the Rose Bowl - Go Trojans! Happy New Year everyone!
