Easter Sunday is usually not a very celebratory time in Spain, even in the Evangelical church. The week leading up to Sunday is filled with lot of events in the Catholic church, mostly focusing on the death of Christ. But, for some reason, Easter Sunday is practically ignored. Not so in the English-speaking, international church that I attend. It's a very traditional (American) style service with lots of familiar hymns and the traditional greeting - He is Risen, and the congregation responds He is Risen, Indeed! (Although we do it in more than a dozen languages.)
I was invited to have Easter dinner with two other WorldVenture families. One of them lives here in Camarma and will be working at ECA next year and the other is currently living south of Madrid and is planning to work in a ministry that is reaching North Africans. We had a great time together, even though our meal was probably not what you would call a "traditional" Easter dinner. The moms hid eggs and the kids had great fun looking for them. Here are a few photos.
